Apprenticeship Scheme Goes from Strength to Strength
The KBB National Training Group has been working with partners to put together apprenticeship schemes that focus solely on kitchen installation, aimed at both school leavers and those looking for a change in career path.
The comprehensive training program offers teaching in a variety of skills in the assembly and installation of kitchen furniture and learning the basics relating to manufacturing and kitchen design.
The training programs have been specially produced to enable the apprentice to monitor their own personal development and produce evidence required to progress towards achieving a National Vocational Qualification.
A successful program is now set up and a current apprentice, Jack Burnett, is doing extremely well. Jack is 17 and whilst at Mansfield All Saints RC School he did work experience at KBB Installations, fitting kitchens. Jack was offered a job at KBB Installations when he left school and after a few months, he started training at Webs Training Ltd where he is now working towards an NVQ Level 2 in Making and Installing Furniture as part of his full Apprenticeship program.
Since joining Webs Jack’s confidence has soared and when he passes his Apprenticeship he would ultimately like to run his own company.
These programs are a great way of ensuring that people coming into the KBB industry as installers have gone through a comprehensive program and have had to meet high standards to achieve a formal qualification.
